Job summary

The Walsh Group, Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking a Carpenter for the Apache Junction Sewer District-WRF Expansion Project CMAR in Apache Junction, AZ. The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs wooden structures using hand and power tools for commercial, industrial or heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities include measuring, preparing and installing wooden structures, using carpentry tools, and assisting with decking; must pass pre-employment drug screen and safety policies;

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work.
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drains, walls, and additional structures.
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed).
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery.
