The Walsh Group, Archer Western Division, is currently seeking a Carpenter for the Wasena Bridge Replacement in Roanoke, VA. The role involves measuring, constructing, and installing wooden structures for bridge and related work, using hand tools, power tools, and machinery on heavy civil projects.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of verifiable carpentry experience, be able to climb scaffolds, lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying weather, and pass a pre-employment drug screen; safety and teamwork

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and balance on scaffolds/ladder.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in variable weather.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridge, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery
