Job description

This position is responsible for providing operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. Qualified candidates will oversee multiple projects and serve as key trainers for lesser-skilled carpenters. They are excellent team members for large-scale commercial reconstruction projects. Advanced carpenters are fully knowledgeable of all applicable equipment, tools, and installation of commercial construction materials. They have experience with commercial, industrial, and institutional construction practices, including shrink wrapping, and may be candidates for the Estimator or Project Manager tracks. This position is Level 4 in the Progressive Carpenter track.

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential problems and request guidance promptly
• Train Carpenter Basic and Intermediate team members
• Answer project questions and direct complex inquiries appropriately
• Construct containment for dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants
• Construct metal-framed walls, acoustical ceilings, and repair/replacement of roofing
• Perform flood cutting, salvaging, and labeling of materials
• Identify insulation types, thickness, and R-values
• Apply skills in trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, framing, ceilings, roofing, and siding
• Perform vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
• Maintain attention to detail and uphold safety standards
• Provide excellent customer service
• Work under time constraints, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed
• Report work hours and materials used accurately
• Attend safety and operations training courses

Requirements

• Supervise unskilled and semi-skilled labor, including subcontractors, in various settings
• Answer basic project questions and escalate complex issues
• Maintain and operate equipment used in daily tasks
• Perform emergency services such as board-ups and securing buildings
• Perform additional duties as required
