About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide operations and maintenance support through skilled carpentry work, including the construction, alteration, installation, and repair of structural frameworks and wooden or manufactured components. Work may include roofing, doors, windows, stairways, paneling, ceilings, interior and exterior trim, and other building components.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plans and lays out carpentry work using blueprints, work orders, shop drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Determines the materials, supplies, equipment, and tools required to complete assigned work safely and efficiently.
  • Performs precise measuring, cutting, fitting, and installation to ensure structurally sound assemblies, weather-tight openings, and quality finished surfaces.
  • Constructs, installs, repairs, and modifies doors, windows, stairways, ceilings, roofing components, paneling, trim, and other structural or architectural elements.
  • Fabricates and installs fixtures and utility components, including cabinets, shelving, workbenches, and other custom-built items for offices, shops, and industrial facilities.
  • Performs alterations and repairs to existing structures and components while maintaining quality, functionality, and appearance.
  • Coordinates with other trades, as necessary, to ensure proper sequencing and completion of work in accordance with blueprints, work orders, schedules, and overall project requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to less-experienced workers on complex projects or tasks, as needed.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure it meets applicable quality, safety, and project requirements.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area and restores work areas upon completion of maintenance activities.
  • Completes all required training within established timelines.
  • Consistently provides quality workmanship and professional service.
  • Follows company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable government regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support operations and maintenance requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related carpentry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely set up and operate common and specialized power equipment, machinery, and hand tools used in carpentry and construction.
  • Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics and the ability to apply mathematical principles to plan and execute complex and precise projects.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work orders and accurately estimate required labor, materials, and time.
  • Practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background investigation, if required for the position.
  • Must maintain eligibility and authorization to access the applicable government worksite.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules as necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various occupational hazards while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).

US Pay Range

$26.72 - $26.72 USD
