Job summary

NU-YAR Construction is seeking a Carpenter to work at client locations throughout Southern Maine and from our Gray, ME office. The role involves completing all phases of residential carpentry and supporting apprentices while maintaining safety and high craftsmanship standards.

The company offers competitive hourly pay, PTO, holidays, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage after 90 days, a Simple IRA with a 3% match, annual training, team lunches, and a gas stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• 3+ years of carpentry experience.
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques with proven skills.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from the lead carpenter and foreman.
• Understand the scope of work and specifications for each project.
• Complete assigned tasks independently and efficiently.
• Perform all phases of residential carpentry work including, but not limited to framing, trim, cabinetry, flooring, siding, and general finish work.
• Guide and collaborate with apprentice carpenters, focusing on craftsmanship and safety.
• Ensure work is completed according to local building codes and company’s quality standards.
• Identify and communicate job-site issues, material needs, or potential challenges to the lead carpenter.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

Nu-Yar Construction is a full-service residential construction firm with 12 employees and over 50 years of combined industry experience, focused on delivering quality building experiences to homeowners through clear communication and stress reduction during renovation or building projects.

• Hourly range of $28-$34 depending upon experience

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• 3+ years of carpentry experience

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Be able to lift 100 pounds and perform daily physical labor.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must have a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety on every job site.
