Job summary

Great Falls Construction in Maine is seeking an experienced carpenter to join our crew. You will frame, build, install, and repair wood structures on commercial and residential projects, reading blueprints and ensuring precise measurements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Solid math skills for layout and measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Frame, build, install, and repair wood structures on commercial and residential jobs.
  • Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately.
  • Install windows, doors, trim, flooring, framing, hardware, and fixtures.
  • Set up ladders and scaffolding when needed.
  • Check work for level, square, and plumb.
  • Tear out and repair damaged or defective work.
  • Keep the jobsite clean and safe.
  • Work with supervisors, subcontractors, and crew.
  • Train and mentor carpenter apprentices.
  • Follow all safety rules and company procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Frame, build, install, and repair wood structures on commercial and residential jobs

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of hands‑on carpentry experience
  • Have a bias toward action and impatience towards those that lack focus and/or the ability to get results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Your own basic carpentry tools
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. regularly (more with help when needed)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Solid math skills for layout and measurements
  • Reliable, focused, and ready to work
