ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Professionally represent GH Phipps and effectively support company strategic initiatives.
- Establish and foster positive long-term relationships with internal customers and business partners.
- Execute GH Phipps policies and procedures.
- Embrace a lean culture and work environment.
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine materials and dimensions required.
- Select appropriate materials such as lumber or fiberboard.
- Identify tie-off and access points, install ladders meeting safety standards, and tie off 100% of the time.
- Prepare layout plans.
- Maintain a clean work area free of tripping hazards and assist others in doing the same daily.
- Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shape materials to prescribed measurements.
- Assemble cut and shaped materials using nails, dowel pins, or glue.
- Erect frameworks and lay subflooring.
- Build stairs, install partitions and cabinets.
- Cover subfloor with building paper and install hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip floors.
- Apply paneling and decorative finishes to ceilings and walls.
- Fit and install windows, doors, trim, and hardware.
- Construct forms and chutes for concrete pouring.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for above-ground structures.
- Weld metal parts to steel structures.
SKILLS
- Proficient in tool usage relevant to carpentry.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Skilled in layout, plumb, level, and square measurements.
- Knowledge of safe and efficient procedures.
- Rough and finish carpentry skills.
- Strong math, reading, and writing skills.
- Understanding of project schedules.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program.
HOURLY RATE
$38.18 USD
