Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living in Silverdale, WA seeks a Driver to support residents by coordinating transportation to activities and events, ensuring safety and comfort during trips.

You will drive community vans/buses, perform pre-trip checks, assist residents, maintain cleanliness, and document trips while adhering to schedules and safety procedures; compassion and patience are essential. This role is based in our community and requires reliability and a caring attitude towards seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years experience driving a community van/bus.
• 1 year experience working with seniors preferred.
• NAC, HCA or NAR preferred (exemption documentation required).
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• Valid State driver's license and participate in driver safety training.
• Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays.
• Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Participates in resident outings.
• Drives community transportation vehicle safely for resident outings.
• Keeps the vehicle clean inside and out at all times.
• Reports delays or accidents.
• Inspects vehicle; checks gas, oil, and water before departure.
• Loads and unloads resident baggage.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
• Maintains a professional and caring attitude toward residents.
• Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
