Job summary

Westminster Assisted Living & Memory Care of Cullman is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents with daily living activities and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. The PCA will assist with ADLs, monitor health, encourage engagement in activities, and collaborate with the nursing team.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of PCA, CNA, or caregiver training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in personal care, senior living, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of caregiving techniques and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Support meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
• Help residents maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
• Observe and report changes in residents' health and behavior to the nursing team.
• Assist with medication reminders and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Foster positive relationships with residents through companionship and meaningful interactions.
• Encourage participation in community activities and social events to promote engagement and well-being.
• Ensure residents' living areas are clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, following established procedures.
