Job summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, delivering meals and assisting with menu selections to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences; accommodate additional selections as needed.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection and retrieve trays on time.
• Follow HIPAA, HACCP, and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Support dietitians and monitor patients on special diets as required.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
