Job summary

St. Paul\'s PACE Corp in San Diego is seeking a dedicated dishwasher to support our dining services for elderly residents. You will scrape, wash, and distribute dishes, maintain a clean dishwashing area, and assist waitstaff during meals.

This role requires attention to hygiene, ability to follow schedules, and teamwork. High school diploma or GED and one year of food service experience are preferred, but compassion for residents is essential.

Qualifications

• Must communicate well and be compassionate toward elderly residents.
• Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication.
• Able to read labels on sanitizing chemicals and follow safety rules.
• Able to operate and handle equipment safely.
• Ability to follow schedules and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain dining and food service areas in clean condition.
• Sweep and mop floors before shift end and keep areas safe.
• Clean and organize the dishwashing area and storeware.
• Clean pots and pans according to sanitation requirements.
• Dispose of waste and keep receptacles clean.
• Ensure dishwasher is cleaned and log temperatures.
• Report malfunctions to supervisor promptly.
• Transport trays to dining room and assist waitstaff as needed.
