Job summary

The Westin at Frenchman’s Reef in St. Thomas seeks an Event Planning Manager to act as a liaison between clients and hotel sales, guiding events from planning to execution.

You will be available during events to resolve issues and offer alternatives, while coordinating group room blocks, F&B, and billing processes. Proven abilities in upselling, contract interpretation, and strong communication will help secure repeat group business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of hotel sales experience.
• 1 year food and beverage experience.
• Strong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts.
• Developed business communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding/knowledge of Microsoft office.
• Proactive approach, assertive and fast paced, driven to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between the customer and hotel sales to provide direction during events.
• Supervise execution of meeting and banquet functions or events.
• Be available during events to resolve problems and suggest alternatives.
• Upsell to maximize profit and secure future group bookings.
