Job summary

J. Benton Construction is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for its office in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This role supports St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix with staff planning, recruitment, employee relations and benefits enrollment.

You will lead HR initiatives, develop policies, and mentor staff while ensuring compliance with labor laws and a strong workplace culture. This is an in-office role based in St. Thomas with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred.
• HR certification preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial HR position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR team and other departments on company-wide initiatives.
• Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
• Develop, implement, and refine HR policies to ensure legal compliance and a positive workplace culture.
• Oversee recruitment from posting to selection and assist with interviews.
• Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution and grievance procedures.
• Support management on HR issues and open enrollment for benefits.
• Participate in design and implementation of HR strategies aligned with company goals.
• Monitor HR metrics and analyze data to improve programs.
