Avflight Corporation seeks a warehouse cargo handler to arrange the warehouse, load/unload air cargo, and ensure customer satisfaction by accurately receiving and storing inbound and outbound shipments.

Responsibilities include verifying cargo counts, documenting deliveries, and performing basic equipment maintenance. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather at an airport environment, including swing and graveyard shifts.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and airport environment.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test.

General Purpose of Job:This position is responsible for arranging the warehouse, handling equipment, load/unload air cargo, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving/storing inbound and outbound shipments.Duties:Receives cargo/mail from and releases cargo to consignors, consignees, brokers, agents, truckers, etc., including checking for damage/tampering, counting, receipting, and loading and unloading cargo.Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargoIssue appropriate warehouse receipt or collect signed copy of delivery receiptPerforms daily equipment preventive maintenance and safety checks.Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacksMaintains a neat and orderly office and warehouse area, including the removal of snow and ice from walkways and truck docks.Maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as neededOther duties as assignedQualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalentMust be 18 years or olderMust be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environmentMust be able to lift 50+lbs on a regular basisAbility to work efficiently under time constraintsMust be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidaysMust pass background check, pre-employment drug test and obtain security clearanceMust have authorization to work in the U.S.Must have valid Driver's licenseCompetency/Behavioral Requirements:Be pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitudeBe reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfill obligationsStrong attention to detailMaintain composure, keep emotions in check, control anger, and avoid aggressive behavior even in difficult situationsAccept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations be open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplaceWillingness to take on responsibilities and challengesBe sensitive to others' needs and feelings and be understanding and helpful on the jobPhysical Demands :Must be able to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
