Job summary

Avamere at Englewood Heights in Yakima, WA is seeking a caring caregiver for Memory Care and Assisted Living. This part-time role covers Evening shifts (Sun-Thu) and Day shifts (Sat-Sun), with a wage of $19-$21 per hour DOE.

You will assist residents with daily living, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. As a friendly, attentive team member, you’ll monitor health, document changes, and support residents and staff with warmth and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care or Assisted Living preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.
• Create warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a cheerful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): personal hygiene, mobility, meal setup and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and handle housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor health and report changes to medical staff; assist with basic health checks.
• Answer calls promptly and support orientation of new residents and staff.

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Requirements

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
