Job summary

Avamere Communities at Sherwood is seeking a Memorial Care caregiver to support residents with daily living activities, emotional companionship, and safe, clean living spaces. This role offers full and part-time swing shifts (2-10pm) with wage range $18.58–$24.24/hr depending on experience.

We value warmth, patience, and a commitment to enhancing seniors' quality of life. You may be required to obtain CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler’s Card, and EMR documentation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience in Memory Care or Assisted Living.
• Must have ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Must obtain Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Monitor residents' health and report concerns to the nursing team.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and ensure safety in the resident areas.

Shift/Schedule:
FT: Swing shift (2-10pm), Sunday-Thursday
PT: Swing shift (2-10pm), Sunday+Tuesday-Wednesday
PT: Day shift (6am-2pm), Friday-Sunday
Wage:$18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
