Job summary

Alliance Home Care in Virginia is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA)/Caregiver to provide essential support to clients at home. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, companionship, and help ensure a safe, comfortable living environment.

The role requires flexibility for after-school hours, with shifts from Monday to Friday 3pm–8pm and weekends 9am–5pm. You will monitor health changes, follow care plans, and document observations while maintaining client

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Help with mobility, including transfers and ambulation, and ensure a safe environment.
• Prepare and serve meals, following any dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organization.
• Provide medication reminders and help with prescribed exercises or therapies.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities.
• Monitor and report changes in client’s health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
• Respect and maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Adhere to all safety and health guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
