Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC in Seaside, Oregon seeks a full-time caregiver for the Suzanne Elise Assisted Living Community. The evening shift (Friday–Tuesday) involves assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for residents.

Responsibilities include health monitoring, medical advocacy, and collaborating with the care team. CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certifications are required or obtainable during employment; prior EMR

Qualifications

• Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care preferred.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain clean, safe environment.
• Monitor residents' health indicators and report concerns.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Support orientation of new residents and staff as needed.

Caregiver Status: Full-time Schedule: Friday - Tuesday, evening shift Location: Suzanne Elise Assisted Living Community, 101 Forest Drive, Seaside, OR 97138

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
  • Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
  • Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.
• Emotional Support and Companionship: Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement. Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.
• Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy: Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.
• Other: Answer resident calls for assistance timely. Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Maintain confidentiality of resident information. Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor. Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
