Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of Delaware seeks a Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist to own the full-cycle caregiver and administrative hiring process, from sourcing through the first 90 days. You will recruit, onboard, and support new hires with structured engagement to reduce turnover and strengthen workforce stability.

Based in Smyrna, this in-person role collaborates with hiring managers, conducts screenings and interviews, and ensures compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field preferred.
• Minimum: 2 years recruitment experience (healthcare/home care preferred).
• 1–3 years onboarding, HR support, or employee engagement experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified caregivers and administrative staff.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media, community partnerships, career fairs, training schools, and local events.
• Screen resumes and applications to assess qualifications and fit.
• Conduct phone screenings and in-person interviews to evaluate skills and cultural alignment.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and support hiring decisions.
• Prepare and extend employment offers and guide candidates into onboarding.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records within the ATS.
• Build relationships with local schools and community organizations to strengthen candidate pipelines.
• Represent HomeWell at recruitment events and community engagements.
• Coordinate all pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screenings, TB testing and medical clearances, fingerprinting and state compliance documents.
• Communicate with candidates post-offer to guide onboarding steps and track onboarding documentation.
• Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation sessions and ensure smooth transition from hire to active scheduling.
• Provide hands-on support to new hires during their first weeks.
• Execute 90-day retention program with check-ins at 7, 30, 60, 90 days.
• Promote CoachUp Care participation and engagement activities.
• Ensure recruiting and onboarding practices align with HomeWell policies and state regulations.
• Provide weekly hire updates to Finance, COO, and CEO.
