Job summary

Senior Helpers of Richmond, VA is seeking caregivers to provide compassionate in-home care for seniors on weekend shifts, with rotating schedules every 2 weeks. Certification as PCA/CNA/Nurse Aide is required to qualify.

The role includes personal care, companionship, and ADL support, with emphasis on dementia care when needed. We offer a friendly work environment, training, PPE, and opportunities for personal certifications, plus a signing bonus program.

Qualifications

• Caregiver must be a Certified PCA, CNA, or Nurse Aide to get qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain open communication with seniors, their families, and our staff
• Assist with personal care
• Companionship
• Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as assigned
• Has experience with Dementia
• Has experience with Gait belt Transfers
• Hours are WEEKENDS only, and rotating every 2 weeks
• Caregiver must be able to work in homes with Pets and Smokers
• Caregiver must be a Certified PCA, CNA, or Nurse Aide to get qualified for this position
• Ability to get to work using reliable transportation
• Valid US issued driver’s license with no serious driving violations
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
• Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers
• Pass a drug screening test
• Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, a plus, but not required
• Must be able to be reached via phone, text, or email for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
