Senior Helpers of Greater Richmond is urgently hiring caregivers to provide in-home care for seniors in the Greater Richmond area. The role supports clients in daily living, companionship, meal prep, transportation, and health monitoring.

We welcome applicants with CNA/NA/PCA experience and a willingness to undergo training. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; pets may be present in client homes.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CNA/NA/PCA experience preferred.
• Willing to accept new PCAs/CNAs and provide in-home care training.
• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation - may need to drive clients in own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support to seniors.
• Assistance with daily activities: Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Medication management: Assist clients with medication reminders and schedules.
• Meal preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals per dietary requirements.
• Light housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Transportation: Assist with travel to medical appointments, shopping, etc.
• Monitoring health: Observe and report health or behavioral changes to healthcare professionals or family.
• Record keeping: Maintain detailed care records.

Responsibilities

• Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support to seniors.
• Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Medication Management: Assist clients with medication reminders and ensure they adhere to prescribed medication schedules.
• Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary requirements and preferences.
• Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for the senior.
• Transportation: Assist with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential outings.
• Monitoring Health: Observe and report any changes in the senior's health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided and any significant changes in the client's condition.

Caregiver Qualifications

• 1 year of CNA/NA/PCA experience preferred
• Willing to accept new PCAs/CNAs and provide in-home care training.
• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation required - may need to drive clients in own vehicle. Will be reimbursed for mileage
• Must be willing to work in homes with pets. Cats and/or dogs

• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
