CNA PROGRAM

Cedarbrook recognizes the benefits of investing in staff development and advancement. In keeping with these objectives, Cedarbrook has partnered with an established C.N.A. training center. To be eligible for the CNA program, you must be employed with Cedarbrook for at least 90 days and be in good standing. Cedarbrook covers all costs related to the program and pays employees at their established hourly rate for time spent in the course. Staff who successfully complete their C.N.A. certification will be eligible for any hourly pay differentials being offered to C.N.A.s at the community. If selected for this position, please speak with your immediate supervisor for further information on the program.

Caregiver Responsibilities

Assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.

Essential Position Functions

• Assist residents in their personal care, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
• Assist residents to and from dining areas and with meals.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
• Listen to and understand residents' concerns and report observations to the Director if appropriate.
• Participate in all in-service programs to develop abilities.
• Set a good example through appearance, conduct, and interest in the job.
• Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Understand and implement fire safety and disaster preparedness plans and evacuation procedures.
• Dependably meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Health care or nurse’s aide training with 100 hours preferred.
• One year nurse’s aide experience preferred.
