Job description

CNA PROGRAM

Cedarbrook recognizes the benefits of investing in staff development and advancement. To support this, Cedarbrook has partnered with an established C.N.A. training center. To be eligible for the CNA program, you must be employed with Cedarbrook for at least 90 days and be in good standing. Cedarbrook covers all costs related to the program and pays employees at their established hourly rate for time spent in the course. Staff who successfully complete their C.N.A. certification will be eligible for any hourly pay differentials offered to C.N.A.s at the community. If selected for this position, please speak with your immediate supervisor for further information about the program.

Caregiver

Assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.

Essential Position Functions
The following duties are typical for this position. This list is not exhaustive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Assist residents with personal care, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
  • Assist residents to and from the dining room and with meals as needed.
  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
  • Listen to residents' concerns and report observations immediately to the Director, if appropriate.
  • Participate in all in-service programs to expand and develop skills.
  • Set a good example for residents and staff through appearance, conduct, and job interest.
  • Maintain compliance with personnel policies, community policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and standards.
  • Understand and implement fire safety and disaster preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures during drills and emergencies.
  • Dependably meet schedule requirements, including attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Health care or nurse’s aide training with at least 100 hours preferred.
  • One year of nurse’s aide experience preferred.
