Assisting Hands of Merrillville is seeking dependable caregivers to provide non-medical, one-on-one care to clients in Merrillville and nearby communities. We offer flexible scheduling, ongoing training, and support from a local office team.

Join our team to help seniors stay comfortable at home with meaningful, one-on-one care. Part-time and PRN opportunities are available with shifts in day, evening, overnight, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of paid caregiving experience in a home care setting or similar role.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
• Current CPR certification and TB test required.

Responsabilités

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and other personal care needs.
• Support safe walking and transfers according to the care plan.
• Assist clients with walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility equipment.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and organization to maintain a safe home.
• Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement.
• Offer medication reminders; not medication administration.
• Observe and report changes in client condition, appearance, or behavior.
• Use mobile app to clock in/out, communicate with the office, and document care.
• Follow infection prevention practices, safety procedures, and agency policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of paid caregiving experience in a home care setting or a similar paid caregiving role required
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance

• Current CPR certification and TB test required
• Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, communication, and documentation
• Dependable attendance, clear communication, and a compassionate, professional approach

Schedule and Work Location

This is an hourly, non-exempt position providing care in clients’ homes in Merrillville and surrounding communities.

Schedules and hours depend on client needs, your qualifications, and your availability. Please include the days and hours you can work and your preferred work locations when applying.
