Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is seeking caregivers, HHAs, CNAs, PCAs, DSPs, and other home care aides to provide non-medical in-home care in Crown Point, IN and surrounding Lake and Porter County communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years caregiving experience preferred (Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, DSP, or similar).
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Pass a national background check; CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, ambulation, and transfers.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, and home organization.
• Assist with mobility using walkers, gait belts, or wheelchairs.
• Provide non-medical medication reminders.
• Monitor client condition and report changes to the office.
• Use mobile apps for scheduling, clock-in/clock-out, and care documentation.
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and agency policies.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professionalism.
