Senior Helpers Southern Maryland is hiring compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide quality in-home care to seniors across Southern Maryland. We offer flexible hours and opportunities for more consistent or additional shifts.

Typical benefits include competitive pay ($16.00-$19.00/hour based on experience), training pay ($15.00/hour), overtime opportunities, mileage reimbursement, paid training and professional development, plus referral and other bonuses.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year caregiving experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screening.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Help with mobility and safe transfers.
• Prepare meals and remind about medications.
• Light housekeeping and laundry.
• Assist with errands and transportation when needed.
• Support daily routines and report changes in client condition.

What You'll Do

• Companionship and emotional support
• Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Mobility assistance and safe transfers
• Meal preparation and medication reminders
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Assistance with errands and transportation, when applicable
• Support with daily routines and activities
• Observation and reporting of changes in client condition

Each client has unique needs, and we work to match caregivers with assignments based on their experience, availability, and location.

Who We're Looking For

• Compassionate, patient, and respectful
• Dependable and committed to scheduled shifts
• Comfortable providing one-on-one care in a client's home
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and office staff
• Passionate about helping seniors remain safe and independent
• Experience with dementia, Parkinson's disease, personal care, mobility assistance, or other specialized care needs is a plus!

Available Shifts

• Day shifts
• Evening shifts
• Weekend shifts
• Overnight shifts
• PRN / Fill-In shifts

Typical Hours: 12-40 hours per week, depending on availability and client assignments.

Weekend and holiday availability is required

Requirements

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience
• Valid driver's license
• Current auto insurance and reliable transportation
• Negative TB screening
• Ability to complete required pre-employment health screening and onboarding
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass required background checks
• CNA, GNA, or HHA experience is welcome but not required for all assignments.

Waldorf, La Plata, Hughesville, Brandywine, Clinton, Fort Washington, Accokeek, Oxon Hill, Temple Hills, Suitland, District Heights, White Plains, and surrounding communities.
