Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a Caregiver-Memory Care for the Newberg location. The role is full-time with a swing shift (2-10pm) and pays $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, emotional support, safety, and daily living tasks to enhance residents' well-being. Requirements include memory care or assisted living experience, ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, Food Handler's Card, and EMR documentation experience.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care or Assisted Living.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.
• Create warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm, cheerful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Support mobility and transfers; assist with walking and use of mobility aids.
• Assist with meal preparation and setting up meals; clear trays.
• Provide emotional support and companionship; engage in conversations and activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment including housekeeping and laundry.
• Monitor health changes and report concerns; observe vital signs.
• Maintain confidentiality and safety; assist orientation of new residents and staff.

Type: Full-Time

Shift: Swing shift (2-10pm), Monday, Thursday-Saturday

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Location: Avamere at Newberg - 730 Foothills Drive, Newberg, OR 97132

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
