Job summary

Avamere Living is seeking a Caring Caregiver for Memory Care in the Portland, Oregon area. The role offers full-time and part-time day, swing, and night shifts at Avamere at Bethany in Portland, OR.

Wage ranges from $18.58 to $24.24 per hour depending on experience, with a perfect attendance bonus for full‑time staff. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, meal prep, emotional support, companionship, housekeeping, health monitoring, and overall resident safety.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Support mobility and safe transfers; assist with walking and use of mobility aids.
• Assist with meal setup, food prep as needed, and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly living environment and assist with housekeeping duties.
• Monitor residents for health changes and report concerns to medical staff; advocate for resident well‑being.
• Answer calls promptly and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Participate in resident orientation and assist with onboarding new residents and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• FT: Day shift (6am-2pm), Sunday-Tuesday
• FT: Swing shift (2-10pm), Sunday-Wednesday
• FT: NOC shift (10pm-6am), Tuesday-Saturday or Friday-Monday
• PT: Swing shift (2-10pm, Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Saturday or Sunday-Monday or Saturdays only

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
