Job summary

Avamere Communities at Newberg, OR is seeking a dedicated Caregiver-Memory Care to join our team on the swing shift (2-10pm). You will assist residents with daily living, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe, clean environment for memory care residents.

Requirements include prior memory care caregiving, ability to obtain CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler’s Card, and experience with electronic medical records. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older; friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain housekeeping, laundry, and a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor residents' health, report concerns, and assist with basic safety checks.
• Respond to resident calls promptly and support orientation of new residents and staff.

Caregiver-Memory Care

Type: Full-Time
Shift: Swing shift (2-10pm), Monday, Thursday-Saturday
Wage:$18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, includingassisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
