Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living in Newberg, OR is seeking a full-time caregiver for swing shift (2-10pm) with daily duties including assisting with ADLs, emotional support, housekeeping, and resident safety. Wage ranges from $18.58 to $24.24 per hour, DOE, with a perfect attendance bonus for full-time employees and a lesser bonus for part-time staff.

Location is Avamere at Newberg, 730 Foothills Drive, Newberg, OR 97132.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide mobility support and help residents transfer and use mobility aids.
• Assist with meal preparation and keeping residents' rooms tidy and clean.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents to reduce loneliness and isolation.
• Monitor residents’ health, report concerns to medical staff, and observe vital signs.

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
