Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• 1 year of caregiving experience preferred.
• Driver’s license required.
• Car with reliable insurance.
• Three years of driving history.
• MV, background checks, and drug screening including marijuana required.
• Some in-office training as needed.

Home Instead is hiring part‑time and full‑time caregivers to help aging adults stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. This opportunity is ideal for students, parents, retirees, or anyone looking for flexible, meaningful work. You do not have to be a nurse or medical professional; dependable, compassionate individuals who enjoy helping people may find this a great fit. Clients are in Douglas County and surrounding areas including Lawrence, Linwood, Ottawa, Baldwin City.

This is not your typical part‑time job. As a caregiver, you gain real‑world experience working with people, building communication skills, solving everyday problems, and making a difference in someone’s life. The role is valuable for students interested in healthcare fields such as nursing, social work, psychology, human services, education, counseling, public health, occupational or physical therapy, but you do not need to be pursuing one of those fields to apply.

What You’ll Do

Salary: $14.00 – $15.00 per hour. Depends on schedule flexibility and experience. There is also a bonus opportunity of $2.50 per hour for working specialized shifts or outside of your home county.

Job Requirements
