Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide one-on-one, non-medical in-home care, enhancing seniors' lives one day at a time. You will work with clients in their homes, delivering companionship and daily living support with empathy and integrity.

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required; CNA/HHA preferred but not mandatory.
• Background check required (national and state as applicable).
• TB test must be current and negative.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with daily tasks.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Able to travel up to 15 miles for shifts.
• Strong communication, compassion, and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide social companionship and supervise daily living activities.
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and light housekeeping.
• Assist with meal preparation and laundry; manage transportation to appointments and social activities.
• Offer standby assistance with transfers and provide overnight safety.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and families.

You work individually with clients, one-on-one, providing a variety of non-medical services that allows you to form relationships with seniors who desire to age in place in their own homes. We are looking for people who are committed to enhance the quality of life of seniors and others by providing the best in-home care with empathy, excellence and integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Social companionship
• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
• Standby assistance with transfers
• Overnight safety assistance

QUALIFICATIONS

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
