A Second Chance is seeking a Child and Family Services Caseworker in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time, non-exempt role provides emergency and temporary care services, prepares reports, and coordinates with Allegheny County Children and Youth Services.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s in Social Work preferred), excellent written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills. A PA driver’s license and vehicle insurance are required.

Responsabilités

• Work on-call hours as directed.
• Interface with providers to plan meetings and coordinate services.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and other required agency reports.
• Adhere to agency policies and procedures.

CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES CASEWORKER

Education

• High School Diploma Required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or in a child related or social services field preferred

Experience

• One year experience working directly with children in a child-related field with degree;
• Five years’ experience working directly with children in a child-related field with some college;
• Seven to ten years’ experience working directly with children in a child-related field.

• Must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage

Responsibilities

• Expected caseload is approximately 15-17 cases – PLEASE NOTE THAT ACTUAL CASELOAD WILL VARY ACCORDING TO AGENCY NEED
• Provide a full range of emergency/temporary care service to parents and children (which includes training, crisis intervention services, placement and monitoring, and transporting)
• Work on-call hours as directed
• Interface with all providers for the purpose of planning meetings;
• Prepare monthly progress reports and other reports that are required by Allegheny County Children and Youth Services, DPW and this agency
• Adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program

This position requires a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends
