Job summary

Meadows on McCarty is seeking a compassionate caregiver for 2nd shift to support elderly residents with daily living activities. The role emphasizes personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, and safe, compassionate interactions in a one-on-one setting.

You will assist with hygiene, medications, mobility, and daily tasks, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents with varying needs. A High School diploma or CNA/HHA training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA/HHA training or certification preferred.
• Experience as a caregiver, CNA or HHA is beneficial.
• Willingness to assist with activities of daily living and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly residents (showering, bathing, dressing, eating).
• Assist with medication reminders and ambulation.
• Support mobility to appointments, walks, and errands.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises as directed.
• Complete shopping or accompany residents to shops.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report incidents and respond quickly in emergencies.
• Assist with daily living activities and meal services as needed.

Meadows on McCarty, one of Mid-Michigan's premier assisted living facilities is looking for a compassionate caregiver to join our growing team on 2nd shift! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly residents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
