Job summary

Pineview Cottage in Northern Michigan is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our growing team on 1st shift. You will provide personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, meal preparation, and help with daily living activities for our residents.

The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, friendly demeanor, and at least 1 year of healthcare or in-home care experience. A High School diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or in-home care (min 1 year).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation daily.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA/HHA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for residents.
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
• Assist with mobility to appointments, walks and activities.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete shopping or accompany on errands.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report any unusual incidents and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meals service when needed.

Pineview Cottage, Northern Michigan's premier assisted living community, are looking for compassionate caregivers to join our growing team on 1st shift! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Benefits

• $1000 sign on bonus
• $24 an hour starting pay

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
