Job summary

Companions & Homemakers is hiring caregivers to provide non-medical home care across Connecticut. You will follow each client's Plan of Care, assist with daily activities, and help with transportation and light housekeeping.

The role offers opportunities for flexible shifts, ongoing training, and room for growth, with competitive hourly pay and benefits options. Prior caregiving experience is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
• Ability to work with diverse client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical home care per each client's Plan of Care.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and shopping.
• Support dressing, bathing, mobility, and incontinence care as needed.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Document care activities and reminders as directed.

Your Day-to-Day

• Provide non-medical home care following each client's individualized Plan of Care
• Transport clients to appointments and activities
• Help with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and grocery shopping
• Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility, and incontinence care
• Be a steady, caring presence — offering companionship and emotional support
• Document care and provide reminders as directed

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Open availability preferred
• Experience as a Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, or Companion is a plus
