Job summary

Rocky Mountain Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to assist residents with daily living activities under supervision of the House Manager, Wellness Director, and Director of Resident Care. The position requires assisting with transfers, mobility, and daily care tasks in a residential setting.

You must be 18+, fluent in English, hold a HS diploma or GED, and able to lift up to 30 pounds. The role involves 12-hour shifts, standing/walking long hours, and strict adherence to RMAL

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plan.
• Follow RMAL policies, procedures, and Resident Rights.
• Communicate with House Manager, Wellness Director, and Director of Resident Care.
• Document in logs and MAR; report changes in resident condition.
• Perform housekeeping tasks; keep home clean and safe; assist with meals and menu adherence.

Caregivers must be able to:Stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 12 hours with breaks.Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as part of daily resident care.Assist residents with transfers, including supporting weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing individuals with or without mechanical lift equipment.Push and pull wheelchairs, transport carts, and assistive devices.Lift up to 30 pounds independently and more with team assistance when required.Navigate between rooms, hallways, and outdoor areas frequently throughout the day.LINE OF AUTHORITY:Reports directly to House ManagerRESPONSIBILITIESAssists residents with activities of daily living (such as showering, using the bathroom, getting into and out of bed, getting into and out of chairs, etc.) in accordance with resident’s care plan and RMAL policies and procedure.Understands, adheres to, and promotes RMAL policies and procedures.Understands, adheres to, and promotes Resident Rights.Communicates directly with assigned house manager, wellness director, and director of resident care. This includes but is not limited to reporting changes in resident condition.Follows activities calendar, prepares, and conducts activities. Ensures a minimum of one activity is being completed each shift.Reports all items that are running low in the home to the House Manager.Performs housekeeping duties throughout home. Ensures the home is clean and tidy at all times. This includes but is not limited to room cleans, daily and as needed bed making, trash removal from resident rooms and common areas every shift and as needed, cleaning the common areas and bathrooms and the kitchen between each meals and as needed.Participates in all required orientation, training, competency, and in-service programs as scheduled and necessary per RMAL policy.Documents in the 24 hour communication log, activity log, and MAR prior to leaving every shift. Documents in a professional and objective manner.Maintains a positive and professional attitude while representing Rocky Mountain Assisted Living during interactions with families, physicians, outside vendors and other employees.Adheres to safe food practices (including appropriate food temperature) while preparing scheduled meals. Follows weekly menu when preparing all meals. Communicates with the house manager when there are issues related to the menu such as food supply shortages, recipe availability, or family or resident concerns with meals.
