Job summary

Senior Solutions, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for an evening shift (6pm–10pm) with alternating weekends. The role provides routine daily nursing care to residents in long-term or rehabilitative care settings, under supervisor guidance.

You will assist with daily routines, observe and report changes, support care plans, and help maintain a safe, clean environment for elderly residents. CPR/first aid and hygiene training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
• Must read, speak and write English.
• CPR, first aid certification and Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines, personal care and housekeeping as needed.
• Report observations and pertinent care information to supervisor.
• Support resident care and review care plans for changes in routines.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of care standards.
• Identify staff training needs as part of the care team.
• Maintain professional conduct per unit policies.
• Check rooms daily for cleanliness; replace linens as needed.
• Assist with Activity Participation and document resident participation.
• Ensure call lights are answered promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary tasks, including serving meals and cleaning the dining area.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Summary of Responsibility: 6pm to 10pm with alternating weekends

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties:

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience:

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
