Job summary

Hireology is seeking a Nursing Assistant in Temple, TX, to provide routine daily nursing care in a long-term or rehabilitative setting. The role runs 2pm–10pm on a rotating schedule of 4 days on, 2 off.

You will assist residents with daily activities, monitor care plans, support safety, and participate in activities while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• NAC certification program preferred.
• Experience with elderly care is desirable.
• English reading, speaking and writing skills required.
• CPR and first aid certification with nurse-led hygiene training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks.
• Report observations and pertinent information about resident care.
• Support care plans and review daily care routines for ID changes.
• Contribute to standards of care formulation and evaluation.
• Identify staff educational needs and participate in training.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Tidy resident rooms, change linens as needed, and monitor safety.
• Encourage and participate in resident activity programs and documentation.
• Ensure timely response to all resident call lights and requests.
• Assist with dietary duties, meal service, and dining area cleanup.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Education

Graduation from high school or equivalent

Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred

Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred

Experience working with the elderly is desirable

Must be able to read, speak and write the English language

Must be certified in CPR, first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor

Summary of Responsibility:

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents
requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care
procedures and as directed by the supervisor. Position will work 2pm to 10pm on a rotation of 4 days on and 2 off.

Duties:

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience:

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
