Job summary

Arete Living seeks a compassionate Caregiver to assist residents with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and maintain a clean, safe environment. The role is part-time/on-call with weekend availability and potential to become full-time.

Duties include helping with ADLs, mobility, meals, and monitoring health while ensuring resident safety and well-being. CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler's Card are preferred, with experience in memory care a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver, especially in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

Type: Part-Time/On-Call (PRN)

Shift/Schedule: All shifts, On-Call, Weekend availability needed; Possibility to become Full-Time

Wage: $21.44-$26.94/hr DOE

Location: Arete at Gilman Grove - 2205 Gilman Drive, Oregon City, OR 97045

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
