Job summary

Home Instead in Newburgh, IN is seeking a compassionate caregiver to join our growing team. You will provide personal care and companionship, support daily living activities, and assist with meals and mobility.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and the ability to adapt to evening or weekend shifts. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of healthcare or in-home care experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance (showering, bathing, dressing, feeding).
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with mobility around the home and appointments.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Run errands or accompany clients shopping.
• Perform housekeeping and report emergencies.
• Offer daily living activities and meal assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping dutiesReport any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills

• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
