Job summary

Home Instead is seeking a compassionate caregiver to join our Evansville team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, one-on-one in-home care to aging adults, with emphasis on safety, dignity, and respect.

You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and medication reminders, while building trusted relationships with clients and families. The position offers flexible scheduling, ongoing training, and opportunities for career growth, along with 24/7 support for caregivers.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to continuously learn new skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care preferred (minimum 1 year).
• Commitment to health and safety standards and compassionate, supportive demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance and help with basic daily activities.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with mobility and accompany to appointments or walks.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities.
• Complete shopping or accompany clients to shops.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report incidents and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
