Job summary

Home Instead Evansville, IN is seeking a compassionate caregiver to join our team and provide one-on-one support to aging adults in the community.

You will assist with personal care, companionship, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation while ensuring safety and dignity. The position requires flexibility for various shifts, including some nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Compassionate and supportive demeanor is essential.
• Willingness to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to do so successfully.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Offer activities essential for daily living by assisting with meals and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remindclients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene

• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards

• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver
• Take pride in providing high quality care
