Job summary

Home Instead in McCutchanville, Indiana is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support elderly clients in their homes. You will assist with personal hygiene, mobility, meals, light housekeeping and companionship, providing high-quality, person-centered care.

Ideal candidates are friendly, reliable, and able to work various shifts. A valid driver’s license is required. Training and a clear career path are offered, with 24/7 call support available to you.

Qualifications

• Experience in one-on-one caregiving setting preferred.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Empathetic and compassionate with clients and families.
• Ability to work varied shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)

• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
