Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Iowa City, IA, seeks a PRN Caregiver to provide personal care and daily living assistance under RN delegation. You will help with bathing, dressing, eating, mobility and daily activities while ensuring safety and wellbeing.

You will also offer companionship, help with meals, mobility support and light housekeeping, supporting a respectful, resident-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services according to the resident plan.

• Assist with transfers, positioning, walking and mobility aids.
• Assist with meals and bussing tables.
• Offer companionship to encourage social interaction.
• Launder clothing and linens; return to residents.
• Complete light housekeeping in resident apartments.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
• Report injuries to supervisor before end of shift.

Position Overview

This position does not require a nursing certificate and is ideal for individuals beginning a caregiving career. The position provides personal care services, assistance, and support while ensuring resident wellbeing and safety, through RN delegation.

• Responsible for providing services to each resident according to the resident service plan.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility.
• Observe and report changes in health, safety, and well-being of the residents.
• Respond promptly to call signals and resident emergencies, assisting with their immediate need or contacting emergency support.
• Support resident mobility by assisting with transfers, positioning, walking, and using mobility aids as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and bussing tables during mealtimes.
• Offer companionship and conversation while encouraging socialization among residents.
• Launder residents’ clothing, linen and towels; fold and return to residents.
• Complete minor housekeeping of residents’ apartments, providing a pleasant home environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
• Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Knowledge of Basic First Aid
