Job summary

Sun Terrace Hermiston is seeking caring and compassionate caregivers to support senior residents with daily well-being, personal services, and medication assistance in a retirement and assisted living community.

The role reports to the wellness director and emphasizes a home-like environment, dignity, privacy, and independence for residents. Experience with caregiving is preferred; training is available for newcomers, and English report writing is required.

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving.
• If new to healthcare, training provided.
• Ability to compose reports in English.

Responsibilities

• Follow the resident service plan including assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Note changes in resident condition and communicate problems with the team.
• Maintain a clean, neat, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards, OSHA guidelines, and incident reporting guidelines.
• Relate and communicate with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other employees.
• Support dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment.

As a caregiver, you assist our senior residents in their daily well-being, including personal services, medication assistance, social-recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks. You will report to the wellness director.

You Will

• Follow the resident service plan including; assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in the resident condition.
• Communicate problems, concerns, and issues with resident apartments, buildings, and grounds with an appropriate team member.
• Maintain a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards and OSHA guidelines, and incident reporting guidelines.
• Relate and communicate with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other employees.
• Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents.

You Currently

• Preferred candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving. If new to healthcare, we will train.
• Exude a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe demeanor.
• Compose reports in English.
