Job summary

Companions & Homemakers is hiring Home Care Aides to provide compassionate, in-home support across Connecticut. You will follow each client's Plan of Care, transport to activities, assist with daily tasks, and offer companionship and emotional support.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check. Flexible shifts, including overnights and live-in options, are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with auto insurance.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical home care following each client's Plan of Care.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and grocery shopping.
• Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility, and incontinence care as needed.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Document care and provide reminders as directed.

Your Day-to-Day

• Provide non-medical home care following each client's individualized Plan of Care
• Transport clients to appointments and activities
• Help with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and grocery shopping
• Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility, and incontinence care
• Be a steady, caring presence — offering companionship and emotional support
• Document care and provide reminders as directed

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Open availability preferred
• Experience as a Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, or Companion is a plus
