Job summary

State of South Carolina’s Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) seeks a Workforce Specialist in the Trident Region. You will deliver a broad range of employment services, help jobseekers resolve barriers, and connect individuals with SC Works resources and career guidance.

The role requires strong customer service and recruiting skills, travel to Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties may be needed, and you will collaborate with Business Consultants and community partners to place

Qualifications

High school diploma with 4+ years in customer service or related fields, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in similar roles.
Experience in recruitment, interviewing, counseling, and case management is preferred.
Ability to educate jobseekers about DEW programs and services.

Responsibilities

Educate individuals on DEW programs, policies, and services and assist with SC Works Center activities.
Provide professional customer service and outreach to jobseekers and employers.
Collaborate with staff and partners to schedule activities and referrals.
Refer qualified applicants to jobs posted through SC Works and match to openings.
Develop relationships with community resources for seamless referrals.
Support SC Works Centers and Workforce programs ongoingly.
