Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) is seeking a Workforce Specialist in the Employment Services division to help jobseekers connect with opportunities and employers find talent. You will educate clients on DEW programs, refer qualified applicants to posted jobs, build relationships with community resources, and support SC Works Centers across the Lower Savannah region.

• High school diploma required with 4+ years in customer service, recruitment, interviewing, counseling or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in customer service, recruitment, interviewing, counseling or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Educate individuals on DEW programs, policies, and services and assist with SC Works Center services.
• Ensure timely, professional, and attentive customer service.
• Collaborate with co-workers, management, and partner staff for scheduling activities.
• Refer qualified applicants to jobs posted through SC Works.
• Work with Business Consultants to match customers with openings.
• Develop relationships with community resources for referrals.
• Promote SC Works services through community and center workshops.
• Provide ongoing support to SC Works Centers and all Workforce programs.
