Job summary

South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) seeks a Workforce Specialist to support the Employment Services (ES) division. You will assist jobseekers with guidance, referrals, assessments, and résumé help, while partnering to connect employers with qualified talent across SC Works Centers.

The role involves traveling regionally to Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties and delivering services to resolve barriers to employment and build skills for job success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4+ years in customer service or related field.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in customer service or related field.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Our Workforce Specialist serves within the Employment Services (ES) division. ES programs improve the functioning of the labor market by bringing together individuals who are seeking employment and employers who are seeking workers. The SC Works system provides jobseekers with career guidance, job referrals, assessments, and résumé assistance. Free tools to assist employers include posting job openings, recruiting and screening candidates, and reviewing job market trends. South Carolina’s 12 local workforce development boards administer the SC Works Centers throughout the state.

The Workforce Specialist reports to the Employment Services Division in the Worklink Region. This role delivers a broad range of services to assist individuals in resolving barriers to employment and increasing skills to obtain or maintain employment.

This position may require scheduled travel to the following counties: Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens.

A high school diploma with a minimum of four years of experience in customer service, recruitment, selection, interviewing, counseling, case management or a related field.

Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience in customer service, recruitment, selection, interviewing, counseling, case management or a related field.
